SRE? by jamibann

SRE?

I mentioned the other week that a lot of timber had been cut down from the lower part of one of our local hills, Craig Coillich. Yesterday, I walked past a small part of the stock of timber. I'm intrigued by 'SRE?'. What could it mean? It was written on a few of the felled trees.

Lots of trees coming down on their own this morning ... it's blowing a gale up here, and lots of roads around us are already blocked by fallen trees. A day for staying at home, me thinks.
I have no idea what it means but it’s a great shot of all that wood

So much wood, a so many trees felled ..Wow! great shot.

Is it just on the big ones ? Maybe they will go to a different wood mill for a different end use ?
I have seen these signs before in various places but not broken the code yet.

It’s a mystery . Always sad to see the trees cut down, but then again we love to use the wood!

Peter thinks it's the name of the company they're going to. Your storm sounds pretty wild. Yes definitely a day for staying home

Probably the sign stands for the buyer. Great capture and pov. If I didn't know that the trees would be replaced by new ones, i would have been very sorry to see so many trees cut down.

An interesting find to which I don't have a clue. I love the way you photographed the trees, lovely dof too.

Love how the eye is led to the still standing trees. I think SRE is who the trees are for, but the ? is a mystery. Maybe it’s a P and they are going to SREP.

SRE? I think it might be Site Reliability Engineering.
Google is in great form ;-)

Super pov and no idea what it means!

Beautifully stacked logs but in always sad to see trees cut down….we use logs for the wood burner so can’t preach about any felling. Trees coming down everywhere & & this wind won’t help! Nice image.

Great pov.

I like the repetition of the ends of the logs. It I like what @shutterbug said about the standing trees in the background. Lots of timber being logged in the county here. I took my truck out for a spin (to keep the fluids circulating and battery charged) on some back roads yesterday and saw a number of tracts of land that have been logged since the last time I saw them.

great POV and DOF ... I like the trees still stands in the background showing how they used to stand tall.

Just look at all this beautiful brown!
I stopped in to see if Poppo had posted his yearly post of his granddaughter, and saw your note there as well There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about 365 and the wonderful inspiration that everyone here is. I miss it dearly, I really do. The thought of having to come up with a picture every day though is a daunting one. I'd be lucky to find something interesting once a month.

That's a lot of wood! Hope the storms pass quickly and without too much damage.

Great pov. I don't know either. I think sometimes they are marked for size or destination.

@happypat We do too, but so far all from our own garden!!!

@markp I suspect you're right - maybe the big ones get earmarked for a specific customer.
