A walking day with friends today, doing a couple of repeat (for us) local Munros. We cycled into Altanour Lodge in Glen Ey and then set off on foot. Got lucky, finding 2 deers' antlers (one attached to Fiona's bag) on the way. Unfortunately, Alan decided he wasn't fit for 2 Munros and so, he and Carole reluctantly left the group to return to base after having 'bagged' Carn Bhac. Having ensured that they'd find their way back to the bikes without any problems, we carried on to tackle Munro no. 2 which was very misty at the top and gave us an interesting navigation experience. A great, although very tiring, day out. I'm feeling ready for a relaxing day of Coronation madness tomorrow. I'm going in to visit dad and sit and watch it on tv with him, accompanied by a Coronation picnic, prepared by a friend in Ballater who's started up a new business of cooking from home. Deeside Dining. I wish her every success.
You deserve the rest!! We are doing the same but a homemade picnic. I shall do nothing all day & neither will Harry even if I have to tie him down! Hand saga if you’re wondering!!
such a fabulous shot of your happy group! whenever your photos pop up, I try to figure out the pronouciation of the different names, quite a giggle I have ;-)
@ludwigsdiana You know what Diana - most people here can't pronounce them correctly. On one of the Munro Bagging websites, you can press on a button to hear the correct pronunciation! In this case it's something like Carn Vac and Ben 'Urine' Mor!
