No. 131, achieved today, Saturday. Quite a rounded, featureless hill, which should have been easy (they never are ...), as it was 'only' a 16km walk. However the bogland on the approach and return was really hard work. Lots of deviations to avoid deep peat bogs and also lots of lifting of the legs in the wet and spongy bits.
Anyway, our wee cottage at Inverlael is perfect. An early start tomorrow as we're planning for 4 munros, so it will be a long and tiring day. A table booked in Ullapool at 8pm for dinner so let's hope we're back in time. And as for tonight, well it's chilli con carne at the cottage, with all the necessary accompaniments, and a glass of red. Oh, and a Gü lemon dessert to follow. Can't wait!
Oh I do like the simplicity and power of this. I did have to look up the meaning of 'munro' though and will have to introduce it to my bushwalking group.
In the second look at this I saw the hiker. Puts a different perspective on the size of that hill. I admire the persistence with which you, your husband and assorted others pursue these hikes.
Enjoy your meal you have earned it.
Your dessert sounds lovely and I hope you are it to Ullapool for dinner. I've been there, its a lovely place
Only a 16 km walk! My Gosh.
Hope you enjoyed a delicious dinner...
