Tuesday's walk was the relatively straightforward Ben Wyvis, the start of which you can see rising straight in front of the path through the woodland. The summit however was deep in cloud and it was very windy. Having been promised a straight up and down walk, hubby did his usual and decided at the summit that it would be better to head off the back of the hill and do a circular walk. Much more interesting. So, we trudged several extra km through pathless bogland and moorland to get back to the car, when there was a perfectly good path to follow. That's hubby for you. It's what he likes.
I'm thinking how much this contrasts with the snowy scenes from just a few months ago -- but the wind and the challenges continue. Beautiful scene too.
Lovely trail!
