A fine walk yesterday through Jock's Road with the Ballater Walking Festival. Despite the look of this photo, the weather was actually lovely, apart from the high level part of the walk where we walked in low cloud. This is taken outside Jock's Bourach - the emergency shelter on the route.
The group were great. One lady took a fall, but nothing serious, thankfully, as it's a very remote walk and getting help would have meant calling the Mountain Rescue. The oldest participant was a lady of 74 years of age. Wallis (right of image) lead the walk and myself and Bill (left of image) were helpers.
I was commiserating on the weather so glad to read it was only in the top. Well done the 74 year old….they all look very happy! Quite a variation in ages of the walkers….a good mixed group.
