A lovely day yesterday for my last walk with the Ballater Walking Festival for this year. A super walk up Peter's Hill, ably assisted by Caroline and Rita. An interesting group of people. Fraser, who has nearly completed his round of Munros, having been doing them for 30 years. Kate and Anne, sisters, both retired teachers and lovely ladies who come back to the Festival year after year. Alena from Bellarus, but living in Alford, who was getting back to fitness after the Covid years. Ken and Heather, unrelated, but who both live in Ballater and were participating in order to discover new walks. Greg and Fran who return year after year and whose son (we discovered last year) went to Uni with our son in Sheffield and they played rugby together. Fiona who had lived in Shetland for 30 years and just come back to 'the mainland'. Julie was a dark horse and didn't give much away, but we know that she doesn't like 'beasties'. Another great day in the hills.
I love to see and hear of your adventures. A lovely group shot holding nice memories of your hike in the hills. The rolling hills in the background is pleasing too.
@olivetreeann Ha ha ... yes this cairn has featured a few times of late as we've walked the route, measured it, checked it, changed it, ... I think I've seen enough of that particular cairn for a while! On to new and different ones!
