I’m thankful for the gift of candlelight. With the clocks turned back now, dark-at-dinnertime means cozy nights indoors at home. That’s when I love candles most! I’m a year-round candle burner, but somehow the warm glow of a candle seems brighter on chilly evenings in Fall and Winter. What peace is found in the light of a candle’s dancing flame! Like magic, I light the wick and cares melt away.
I like viewing this image best on the black background.
I’m dedicating November to giving thanks! For years, I’ve kept a gratitude journal in which I jot down things that I’m thankful for. During this month when we’ll celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I’m going to take my gratitude for God’s good gifts one step further by photographing a particularly meaningful gift each day for my 365 project! I've always viewed the subjects of my images as gifts, but I'm looking forward to this month of intentionally labeling them as such. This will enable me to spend a bit more time dwelling on God's goodness and offering the thanks that He deserves. If anyone would like to join me in this celebration of grace, please do! I’ll be tagging my images: all-is-grace.
What a beautiful room - your lighting is fantastic - agree that it would make a lovely magazine cover - terrific dof and remarkable focus. There's such a wonderful sense of peace to this photo.
There's definitely something special about the glow of candlelight. It softens the view, creates a sense of coziness like nothing else. Beautiful picture with its variety of gentle light.
Wonderful composition, and it does look especially beautiful against the black! I think that it is great that you keep a gratitude journal and intentionally dwell on God's goodness ...I'm looking forward to seeing your posts in this Thanksgiving season! Fav!
@dsp2 I do love to dwell on His goodness, that's for sure; and this being the month we celebrate Thanksgiving...well...I thought I'd focus on His goodness with my camera. Thank you so much for your kindness and fav. I truly appreciate your interest in my project!
@dkc222 I always have a candle sitting on this peninsula in the kitchen; and I so love the peaceful light of the flame on chilly, cozy evenings. Thank you for stopping by and commenting, Kim!
