I’m thankful for the gift of frost. This morning’s frost outlined the veins of this tired, frozen strawberry leaf in the kitchen garden; and what isn't delightful with a sugar coating? Sweet start to the day!
I like viewing this image best on the black background.
I’m dedicating November to giving thanks! For years, I’ve kept a gratitude journal in which I jot down things that I’m thankful for. During this month when we’ll celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I’m going to take my gratitude for God’s good gifts one step further by photographing a particularly meaningful gift each day for my 365 project! I've always viewed the subjects of my images as gifts, but I'm looking forward to this month of intentionally labeling them as such. This will enable me to spend a bit more time dwelling on God's goodness and offering the thanks that He deserves. If anyone would like to join me in this celebration of grace, please do! I’ll be tagging my images: all-is-grace.
@cejaanderson Thank you, Jane! Haha...what fun to try to capture a bee! As the saying goes...if at first you don't succeed, try and try again. I hope to see a bee photo in your project soon! :-)
Beautiful capture - I do agree that the frost really outlines the veins on the trees so beautifully - their details seem to really pop out. You can almost count the little strands of frost.
Fabulous browns, Janet! And as always, the view on black brings out the exquisite tones and details. (I wish the top half of the page was always black, for the sake of the photos.)
@kategoring I appreciate you commenting, Kate. Thank you! I thought the same thing about the dying leaf looking beautiful with the frost. Nature never ceases to amaze.
@milaniet Thank you for commenting, Milanie! I find it amazing how frost magically turned this drab leaf into a thing of beauty. I stood there for quite some time admiring the frosty lines.
@jgpittenger Thank you so much, Jane! I was actually walking back indoors when I discovered the strawberry leaf adorned with frost. Stopped me in my tracks!
@lyndemc Thank you for your kind words! I've wished for black surrounding the photos, too, since more times than not I prefer viewing them on the black background. Maybe someday it will happen. There's always hope!
P.S. I'm all for eternal optimism! :-)
