I spent my time today in the company of this handsome fellow and his friends and had no time for photography, so I pulled this one from my library. I chose this one, because I could have snapped the very same image today. Eighteen-year-old Bubba the Palm Cockatoo lives in the Tropical Forest exhibit of the National Aviary. His large, powerful bill enables him to eat hard nuts and seeds. This afternoon, he spent much of his time gnawing on a stick and watching visitors as curiously as they watched him. His smoky-gray plumage and sweet expression delight onlookers, and smiles abound around Bubba!
