Netting the Pond by janetb

Netting the Pond

With leaves falling fast these days, stretching the unwieldy — and I would say unsightly — black net across the pond needed to happen. No one wants a pond full of leaves. The net will stay pinned in place until our big old trees stand leafless, displaying their full, mighty strength to oncoming winter. The net will also keep out the Great Blue Heron who began visiting a few days ago and not to admire the fish. Our beautiful koi and goldfish can break up their characteristic side by side line of defense now and relax.

I praise you, Lord, for Mike getting the pond netted fairly easily today.
Great photo. I never knew this had to be done...annually! Quite the work.

I like the focus on the glove, boot and ratty old shorts. Interesting shot! :)

I can just picture the fish breathing a sigh of relief now that there's a place to hide from Heron eyes.

I don't know anything about fish ponds - I am surprised that these fish do not miss the light.
