Something New

Usually, I get up close and personal with flowers; but embracing something new feels good! I spent an hour in one spot on the edge of Northmoreland Lake trying my best to shoot intentionally — crouched, standing, sitting, laying — and always looking for the light. I like this shot best because, unlike my typical tight shots, it shows context. Although I still used my familiar favorite 50mm lens, shooting with an aperture of f3.5 took me outside of my comfy f1.4-f1.8 zone. Here's to change and growth and all things new!

I praise you, Lord, for lifelong learning.
Fabulous composition and focus.FAV I can relate to the photographers yoga to get the right shot!

Very nice--even though the background is blurred, it is defined enough to show its details.

the little pant in the foreground looks so joyful, as if praising the greatness of the Autumn dressed tree over the other side of the water.
