oh my. absolutely spectacular. i had never heard of bokeh before i joined 365. had to teach my computer the word so it wouldn't constantly auto-correct! i am now completely addicted and notice it when i want to take pictures, but also in films, on tv etc ...
@pistache@orion5d Thank you for your nice comment, dear Clare! Of course I keep learning. Of course, I also had to gradually learn to consciously view a motif and learn technical basics. The longer I deal with photography, the more I realize how much I don't know and can't do. I think it's an important part of this forum that you can learn from each other. Every time I experience wonderful suggestions from other people, I enjoy different perspectives on this world and possibilities of visual expression. Each person has his or her own way - and that's a good thing.
@orion5d Liebe Astrid! Thank you for your kind comment!
This blobs effect in the background is called "bokeh". It is a purposefully used blur. You can achieve this effect with a high-speed lens. A large camera sensor is helpful. The aperture should be very open, the distance to the background should be large. If there are light sources in the background, the characteristic blur circles are created.
This photo was taken on the bank of a lake late in the afternoon. Sunlight created many reflections in the water. There was an estimated 20 meters between the flower and the water. I took the picture with my macro lens, the distance between the camera and the flower was very small.
It also requires a bit of luck - you can't control how the sun scatters its light on the surface of the water. It is a combination of the angle of incidence, camera position and surface movement of the water. I had a time window of maybe two or three minutes, then the glitter on the water was over. I chose the most appealing from a long series of pictures with different settings.
This is a very technical description. Technology is a very necessary part of photography. But I also like to write about the creative part, what moves me, what interests me, what I feel when shooting and afterwards editing.
