@golftragic How did I do that? I pressed the shutter button. :-)
Now to the history: On the 1st floor, above this lounge, there was a bridge-like entrance. From there I could look down head-on. I consider it a lucky coincidence that this man was lying there, absorbed in a book. I also liked the long shadows.
@jerome Hahaha!! Good one Jerome. Thanks for the spatial description, I'll keep my eye open for somewhere to try out the same technique, I do have one place in mind. Wouldn't be the same shot, but would be interesting.
@golftragic Dear friend, thank you for your nice lines. "My technique" - in this case it was borderline. I leaned over the parapet as much as possible, taking photos with outstretched arms. The camera's strap was too short to secure it around the neck - so: hold the cam firmly! I wanted to photograph the situation on the ground floor as head-on as possible. A perspective distortion could not be completely prevented, I corrected this at home on the PC.
Good light for your photo safari!
@jerome The place I have in mind is closed to the public right now thanks to this wretched virus. I'll have a crack at the shot when it's open again. I use a Black Rapid wrist strap on my camera (firmly attached via the tripod screw-in socket) so I can hold the camera out fairly safely. I will write properly to you in the next few days, I promise.
