Beemoth

For reasons unknown to me, this pretty and tiny moth is one of the very many which have decided they want to live in my house. Their flight season is June to August and I've had them since late March. I'm happy that they visit, but do wish they would settle in places I can get at easily, I'm no longer happy climbing on stools to reach far distant places...
Nice capture

@k9photo @koalagardens @rontu I suppose they could find a meagre nourishment in the feeding plants I have in the sunroom but they prefer the kitchen. They are harmless, Linda, but like you I don’t want them in the house. The environment is totally unsuitable so they are evicted. 5 went Friday and another 2 already at 3am (sleep is evading me again). It will make an interesting article for our Yorkshire Butterfly Conservation magazine.

Larvae live in bee/wasp nests, sometimes birds. I'm not sure if the adults feed actually. This is a female.

@steveandkerry thanks. A bee was very interested in an air brick a couple of years ago. I wonder if eggs were laid in a nest I knew nothing about and the imago are somehow finding the way into hall cupboard then through the flimsy divider between cupboard and kitchen. I have decided just to keep evicting them (5 today so far) and when no more appear open up the cupboard. I refuse to hurt them.
