This was taken shortly after yesterday's shot. Fishermen drove onto the sand with their trailers, unloaded their boats, went to park their trucks and then went back to their boats to enter the ocean through the surf. Some were more skilled than others and this man managed it all by himself.
Thanks for your kind response to yesterday's shot. I appreciate your time, thoughtfulness, kindness, immensely
Beautiful morning light Jane...you have captured the very striking half silhouette of the fishing boat & the warm pinkish sky, the mast stands out very clearly......a very individual way of life!!
my sister-in-law owns one of the codos there, we watched them all weekend. it was really fun. also fun was watching some of the trucks get stuck in the sand. lol nice evening shot here!
@vickisfotos yes, I'd love to go back and capture them with the surf crashing around the. I was still so shaken by my presumed loss of memory card and the error message I'd gotten from my camera that I didn't have the settings right for capturing one well focused while moving. And the pink dawn light was passing quickly
Its a beautiful photo and an even more interesting story. I can't imagine the hazards of launching like this and maybe having conditions change while fishing, so that it can be more dangerous when returning. Beautiful reflective sand.
@rvwalker I totally agree re riskiness. See note above from @vickisphotos about watching the trucks get stuck in the sand. I remember when we first moved to Florence seeing a car that had gotten stuck in the sand???we watched it get more and more deeply buried over time. Yikes
