Hi Jane, you have so many wonderfully exposed & composed shots that your album is an absolute delight! love this concept & lighting.
When looking at this shot I might have rotated it counter clockwise 90 degrees ( ?? do I subconciously prefer the form to be 'grounded' using the central vein). I also see you crop to composition. I changed to using standard ratios, and although it took a month or two for me to adjust, I now compose with a crop ratio in mind & although the shots dont look quite as good in the 365 grid format, It has helped when I have had to go back & use an image on a greeting card or canvas print. There is an interesting article in crop ratios http://photography.tutsplus.com/articles/the-art-of-using-aspect-ratios-in-digital-photography--photo-7947 . Please consider these comments as just my thoughts and IMHO - your shots are wonderful!

@ltodd I absolutely love it when people give me CC. Thank you, thank you. FYI the central vein is actually the one frame left. I will play with rotating it 90 degrees to see what I think. And yes, I have been cropping to my eye and when I print I re look at crop but I look forward to checking out your link
