I'm way behind! We just got back from 11 days on the road with rare internet and no computer. There were some wonderful photo opportunities that I have hardly even had a chance to download onto my computer yet. I've missed you all and will probably take a few days before I get a chance to look at and comment on your photos.
This was taken at Lake Tahoe where we spent our second night. The clouds were so heavy that we left this spot before sunset and went back to our campsite to cook dinner since it looked as if the sunset would be puny. When the sun did set and there was no nearby good spot to shoot it, the sky was on fire. I learned something interesting...at home when there is a thick marine layer on the horizon, the sunset is predictably unimpressive. But here, there had been a skinny line of blue just on the horizon even though the rest of the sky was thickly clouded and it became an incredibly beautiful sunset. I was still feeling sick that night and it probably was good that I got back to the campsite early to cook dinner and go to bed early, but I was disappointed to have misread the signs.
Thanks so much for your visit. I will get back to commenting as soon as I can.
