Hummer Shaking Off the Rain

One of the things I like about Oregon is that even though it rains a lot (we had 2" yesterday for example), often there are brief interludes. Usually I seize them for a much needed hike, but sometimes there are other pauses for photographs. This was taken during one of them.

Such a handsome fella! I love the pretty golden tones in the background. May I make a request? I'd love to see this cropped into a horizontal image, eliminating the curled leaf. That would just leave the gorgeous hummer on that jewel-like, gold toned background. Just a thought?

I love this one, as the leaf gives the bird some scale. The bokeh at the bottom is a little distracting, but still a wonderful shot!

This is quite lovely. The grain shows up less and the leaf gives it scale. I'd try cropping it a little at the bottom to remove the partial twigs.
