Rainbow Dawn by jgpittenger

Rainbow Dawn

The photo in my extras album was taken just a few moments before this one and you can see how quickly the weather was changing. It was wonderful to see the rainbow, a few moments of sun, and clouds with definition as opposed to what feels like weeks of thick gray clouds. I'm about to walk out the driveway to see how it has held up to the 3 1/2 MORE inches of rain we got yesterday.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs. I hope you all have wonderful Holidays.

What a pair of gorgeous photos! This one is so upbeat with the rainbow and the next one, with such a similar sky, has such an ominous look. Both are stunning.

These two shots are really neat of the clouds and rainbow - amazing how quickly clouds change. Great color.

Beautiful colours and tones in this image Jane. How nice to finally have a break from all that grey and I think that hint of blue sky and rainbow is a sign of better things to come weather wise.

I like both these shots very much Jane, the framing and composition are great on both. I particularly like the contrasting moods between the two images.

PS Could you please send us some of your rain? We've only had one decent rain in the past four+ months, and that was only 25mm/1", things are getting drastically dry in the bush.

@golftragic I'd be happy to share if I could. We've had 46 1/2" in the past 80 days and more coming tonight

Holey, moley Jane, that's a major deluge. Is anyone building an ark yet? I do feel for you very much, those conditions must be very difficult to cope with.

@golftragic well, we did need the rain but it's getting really old

So interesting, Jane! The color in the air seems to be hanging from the storm, the rainbow's promise is made good with that blue sky.

Nicely done Jane and glad you got a little respite from that relentless rain... we live in strange times weatherwise - well, all-wayswise really!
