Hawthorne Bridge At Night with Kayak Motion Blur b and w

Here is another shot for the black and white landscape theme. I think I prefer the color version which I will post in my alternate album. This was taken on my Birthday trip to Portland in January. It is of the Hawthorne bridge. the options for perspective were influenced by a homeless camp being just where I would have liked to stand. I know the boat in foreground and the motion blur are probably distracting, but the motion blur is from a night kayaker and I thought it was so cool that he was out there at night, that I wanted to keep it. Mistake?
Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs and taking my Foggy dawn shot to the PP yesterday.
So crisp and soft with the blur motion.

Awesome shot and processing

Not a mistake because I was so mesmerised by all those lights & stars that I didn't at first even notice the boat. After thaypt it just adds more to the photo. I know without seeing the colour version that I will prefer that as I am a colour person but it might not be as dramatic!

I don't know - it's awfully nice in b&w!

I think the warmth of the color is hard to beat. If I hadn't seen it, I would love this anyway, but it's just in comparison. I think the strength of this one is such that I'd remove the foreground lower left to just above the diamond shaped links. I like the motion, so wouldn't want to eliminate that, but less of that foreground material would be okay I think.

The reflections are amazing. Awesome photo!

I stood at just that spot tonight! The b&w makes this shot particularly unusual, and I like the motion blur for movement.

Love it! Hang that one on the wall.

Lovely picture with excellent processing. I think I might have tried cropping it to get another picture in which the emphasis was on the kayaker and his wake--but I don't know whether that would work or not.

I ws wondering what that blurry spot was! Adds some mystery. And overall, this is such classic night cityscape shot!
