As you can see, yesterday’s wave was nowhere near the biggest. If you look carefully, you’ll see people on the viewing platform on right (lower than the top of the wave) and a foolish soul with arms spread probably saying “you think that’s a big wave! Let’s see what you can give me!” standing outside the safety fence.

Fabulous image! And yes people can be so stupid when it comes to standing on a rock next to gigantic waves. Kept seeing on the news that a man was was washed off a rock by a giant wave a few days ago. Miraculously he survived!
That is a great photo capturing natures power. The onlookers give the photo an immense sense of scale. Like all the best photos it tells a story all by itself. Fav
