Musk Oxen by jgpittenger

Musk Oxen

Probably 35 years ago Jim and I were at the Seattle Zoo and met our first muskox. It was out in the cold, wet and bedraggled, with seagull poop thick in its fur. Jim, who is a very positive, cup over 1/2 full kind of man, immediately felt as if he had found his soul mate or power animal. Ever since the musk ox is a big part of our life. So when we saw them at the Wildlife Safari, of course I had to photograph them. I thought he deserved a better background. Talk about a selection nightmare with all his hanging locks of fur!
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs

Feels exactly like a painting. I am usually hitting the right at half-cup, like it's just half-cup. haha. What an impressive job editing here!

Loved reading your narrative, I have never seen one before. You sure did a magnificent job with the texture! Amazing small feet for such a large animal.

The mood of this shot says dreamy or Caught in a Storm of golden light . It is very sharp , I like the texture of his coat. The eye never leaves the picture. Their is a lot to talk about here, content, form, and the subject itself. Good job👌
