We only see evening grosbeaks very occasionally so what a surprise! I started shooting them through the window because they are easily spooked but was eventually able to shoot them from outside. They are sitting on the structure we created to hang our bird feeders from and make them inaccessible to the bears that frequent our property. The female is on the right.
