Erratics

Thee large boulders are ‘glacial erratics’, large rocks deposited by glaciers after being transported many miles. The pointed one on top left is known as Target Rock, and was used by British Navy warships for target practice in the War of 1812. We visited Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge in Lloyd Neck, NY today with family before they travel back home tomorrow.

Such a tranquil, interesting shot, with the size of the boulders not immediately obvious at first glance.
