I took a lot of ribbing from my gf's about the fact that I was photographing the common clover when I was surrounded by water and islands. But I loved the picture. I've cloned out some extra leaves and love how the leaves form a ribbon flowing out of the frame. Hope you will say I spotted well.
This is looking good Joan. I like the outer focus darker detail on the right, it balances nicely with the lighter background on the left. The leaves at bottom left pull my eye a bit, did you try taking them out as well? I would have been tempted to do that, I think. Overall I like the cleanness and simplicity of this image. Nicely observed.
The lovely simplicity of this appeals to me - well spotted! I do agree with @vignouse that taking out the leaves on the lower left would enhance the image as the single clover blossom is quite striking.
@vignouse@barbarajdonnellan Okay you two may be right for overall appeal but this time I'm not changing because I like how it looks like a ribbon floating off the frame. I defied my bff's to take it so maybe
I should rename it defiance. This ones for my likes. But bring it on any time. Because next time I see this I'll change it. Fair enough?
Joan, I love the clover, it is so pretty and simple. How can you make that look so elegant? No clue, but you did!! Love the purple standing out on the background. I think what makes this so good is that you usually see these in a mass of green and other growing stuff (at least here). I'll have to check out the stamping tool.
You spotted well. As a kid I would pick clover. Then pull the purple part out a chew on the white ends. It is sweet. I wonder if I am alone at doing that?
@wildernesswillie
Suitable for framing Joan! The single clover, so simple yet here, so exquisite.
Ha ha! I had to laugh at what William (above) said. As a child, I too would pluck out the tiny petals and chew on them. I didn't think anyone else in the world did that!

This is one clever clover!
