Peach by joansmor

Peach

My get pushed partner @homeschoolmom challenged me to take a macro. I do not have a macro lens. So I used my close up lens to capture this peach and hope it qualifies. Macro is one of those things that confuse me when is it a close up and when is it macro. Has something to do with the size of the object in the picture compared to the size of the object. Best I can do.
Love the contrast and lighting.

@joansmor To me, this is a macro. There are those super macro shots that sometimes are called micro. Makes me hungry. I love peaches.

I love how you see all the shadings on the peach's skin. Lovely.

@paul10 My stove top is black and I have a light in the overhead fan. You use what you have.

Nice shot... and FWIW, true macro photography is when the image on the sensor (or film of course) is life size, I.e. when the reproduction ratio is 1:1. This sort of close-up image is more properly called proxi-photo.

Defining macro can depend on who's defining it! But I think this passes the test. Nicely done!
