Today I went with a friend to scatter some of his wife's ashes at one of their favorite places. We drove up to Mount Battie in Camden and found a good place to sit and overlook the harbor below. Camden is a special place to me also. My gf got married there and I spent my honeymoon there. We both went camping there as kids with my parents. We took a windjammer cruise from the harbor there. So it was my pleasure to accompany her husband to this spot and remember wonderful times past. I brought one of those individual bottles of wine which we split along with some wonderful cheese spread and split the German Chocolate cake. Then he spread some of her ashes. But before we ate everything I took a still life for my get-pushed challenge. I know my girlfriend was smiling down at us knowing that I would of course have food.
@joansmor Meaning is what I asked for and you have given it that and successfully married the challenge to the sad occasion. You criticise yourself for not making it 'artistic'. I see circles in this image. What if you had arranged those items so that all those circles were facing the camera and shot it facing directly on to them. Would that make it more artistic and satisfy your need for a meaningful and sad image?
@yrhenwr I was more concerned at the time that nothing should fall over with the breeze and the unevenness of the chair. But will keep your suggestion in mine going forward.
