Lupine by joansmor

Lupine

I told my nephew that I needed a picture of lupine (one of my favorite wild flowers). I pulled over the first good spot I could find. Turns out I didn't need to worry as they were everywhere. But I posted the first shot because I thought this sign was very neat.
Lovely sight

I like the addition of the old sign- and it's a nice color contrast to the Lupine as well. Good shot!

How interesting that these plants are called lupine. We have cultivated plants that look just the same, called lupins!

@suesouthwood You had me worried that I spelled wrong, But no that is the right spelling. They are sometimes cultivated but grow wild in most places.

Oh and when I looked up it is the same flower.

@joansmor Interesting. They don't grow wild here so they must have been cultivated from the wild flower. We get them in so many colours, but have been bred so

Whether wild or cultivated i just love these fabulous flowers - as do the bees.. this is a beautiful shot of them in their natural state/environment.. neat sign too..
