This little guy entered my view as I was taking other shots so I stopped and tried to capture him -alas my card was full. Ran inside to get grab another card. Got him. He is technically a Armadillidiidae- common name Pillbug.
I often describe actions of shutting down when I've reached my limit as "pillbugging' because of how they roll into a tight ball when threatened to protect themselves.
This is a close up of my concrete patio. I didn't realize how truly uneven the surface is until today.
@maskerade Thank you, got really lucky and he made a much better shot that what I trying. @cjphoto Thank you, I always move these little guys when I find them in the garden- they never really like it but I feel better. @sugarlenks Thank you, he is really my hero, I often say, especially when my son is trying to explain an app that I need to install and why, I'm pill bugging now, gotta stop now.
This is very cool. I love that, "pillbugging"... very apt term for what it is! I do that too (shutting down to protect myself) but I think a lot of us do - I just never heard it called that, but I will use it :)
