@msiegel, get pushed partner gave me two options for a challenge. My challenge to you is to go on a walk (if the weather is cooperative) and stop every 21 steps, look around you and take a photo of anything near or far, macro or huge. Post a couple or more that turned out really well. If that doesn't work for you, give me a B&W photo of an interior space - not just an item in the interior, but the space itself.
This is the 2nd option - I went into one of the newer buildings on NAU sat down and started taking pictures. I sat down on the floor in front of the stairs, took several then looked up and took oodles more. The ground floor is not so interesting but looking up is so cool. Each is image was completed using Photoshop with photomerge, then cropped.
What I like about the photo is all the shapes, lines, curves and reflections. There is so much to look at, but it only works if you use B&W. It's a very modern image but a little classic too. Nicely done.
@nydelignorsk Thank you, this campus is really in a building boom- so many new buildings. I wonder when it will stop. @pdulis I was amazed at the cool design of this building. Glad that I could enjoy it and really glad I wasn't taking finals today. @annied Thanks, the poor students who were engrossed in their finals seemed oblivious to the architectural lines.
@francoise You are right it is kinda like a puzzle. The interior of this building is a tight space(very tall and narrow) so traditional panorama wasn't going to work. I look lots of shots and then used PS to merge so I could just play with the architectural lines.
@blueberry1222 Thank you, the more I look at it, the more I wonder about my sanity. @andywallis Thank you, When I shot these I wasn't exactly sure how it would work in PS. I am still dabbling in the program. @pusspup Thank you glad you liked it. My husband now is really worried about me.
@linnypinny Thanks, some days ideas just happen, I was originally going to do a standard panorama but the space inside was so narrow and tight that I just sat down on the stairs and pouted a bit and then I looked up.
@pickerandagrinner Thank you, hooray for crazy people- we make 'then' think. @nicoleterheide Thank you, bending reality in photoshop is a lot of fun. @sketch2 Truly appreciate the fav. Now that summer classes are here, I should be able to explore' campus more and see what's out/in there.
@stephanies Thank you, the photo merge feature of photo shop is fun to play with. I did learn to take my shots vertically since the tops and bottoms are often cropped. @sdutoit Thank you; I had fun trying to per-visualize this. I just need to use photo shop more.
