The north rim of the Grand Canyon is far nicer to visit than the south rim. So many less people!!!! A bit farther from home (3.5 hours) but so worth it.
My wife and I visited the Grand Canyon in 2011 during our honeymoon. Like most of the tourists we went to the south rim and there were a lot of people. Anyway, the place is unique and we have wonderful memories of it and a fun anecdote.
@davie Thank you, It was a terrific day, just slightly overcast to help with the drama. I hadn't been to that side before and now recommend it so much.
@spectrum Thank you so much for the fav. The south rim is really amazing and you just can't really do justice to it with pictures. I am planning to ride my bike along the south rim soon- and maybe take the mule ride into it. @overalvandaan Thank you a great deal for the fav. The canyon is so amazing and surprisingly really much of it is not accessible. I just am in awe any time I go there. @chard When you go, go after Labor Day- Jacob Lake Inn where you have to turn south to the canyon, has the best cookies in the world.
@kali66 It is and since it takes a great deal of effort to hike into and out of, the canyon is always in control. I am awed by the shear presence of it.
@jeffinvt Thank you, north rim of the canyon has much less viewing area but also fewer tourists. @susale Thank you, no picture really does the canyon justice but I will keep trying. @pusspup Thank you very much. @jerome I am very appreciative of the fav. The canyon really should get the fav or at least Mother Nature. @cjphoto Thank you so much. The canyon is an amazing and phenomenal place.
Goodness, such interesting rock formation and colours, I have never seen anything quite like this. So glad to see it though your pictures, fav. @joysabin
@stephanies Thank you a great deal for the fav. The canyon is so amazing. I've not had the desire to hike into it (yet) but maybe the mule ride would be more my cup of tea.
