Temporary Water by joysabin

Temporary Water

A larger temporary pond in Flagstaff. Done in Infrared and then converted to B&W.

Thank you to everyone helped get yesterdays shot on the TP and PP. I am so very grateful.
Fab shot and with waters so still that's a glorious reflection.

It feels like it is nighttime, with a full moon. Very dramatic.

Awesome! Fav.

I think that infra-red works best like this converted to B&W - this is a very striking image, especially with the reflections.

I'm a 5* sucker for reflections and these are impressive and imposing. Potential Christmas card?

@365projectorgsebgritt Thank you so much. The strange weather gave us some extra ponds. I feel gifted by being able to hear frogs again.

@365projectorgjenfurj Thank you, that is the infrared processing. The sky turns dark and the trees and plants reflect the light. I gotta try this with a day time full moon, thanks for the idea.

@pusspup Thank you, I am very grateful for the fav. The infrared b&w really does make it look barren.

@pdulis You are very kind, thank you for the fav. The park's new 'pond' was a welcome surprise to find.

@eudora So very kind, thank you for the fav. Standing water around these parts is rare. I feel gifted to have gone to the park and found this. The crows and frogs already knew about it.:):)

@vignouse I am honored coming from an expert in reflections, many many thanks. The pond will probably disappear soon but I got to see it and not many other people were there. The infrared seems to really pick up clouds that I don't see, I am getting the 'hang' of post work with this.

@la_photographic Thank you so much, I was totally surprised that there was water, this park is often so very dry.

@evalieutionspics Thank you so very much for the fav. I have more success with the infrared b&w, at least in the processing. I do really like the surrealness(??) that happens.

@s4sayer Thank you a great deal for the fav, I'd will give this a strong consideration for the card this year. I feel very gifted to have come upon this 'pond'. The park is mostly empty in the afternoons, so I thought to maybe get some nice cloud and tree shots in infrared but was excited to see water and hear frogs. I wish I'd brought a chair or blanket to sit on. The crows may not have liked me around but they behaved.

@domenicododaro Thank you very much. I wished I could have not chopped off the trees in the reflection but I didn't bring the wide angle lens.

@taffy Thank you, the infrared conversion is so much better than filters, if you can find an old camera in your brand and get it converted. I used Life Pixel but there is also Spencers out of Utah ( http://www.spencerscamera.com/). The post processing world is a challenge.

@cjphoto Thank you so much. I was just so excited to find water in the middle of this park.

@dawnee Your are very kind, thank you for the fav. The infrared really is great deal fun.
