Sizzling Water by joysabin

Sizzling Water

Trying to catch water sizzling in my wok for the macros-motion challenge. I started with an iron skillet, about 100 shots later I tried using the wok. Much better movement and didn't take as long to heat up or smell up the kitchen while I worked. Iron skillets have an unpleasant odor when left cooking on the stove which was necessary for this. I also had to take breaks in shooting since the heat from the burner was a bit too much for me and my camera.
The things we do for photography! I like the different colours and textures created.

@megpicatilly Thank you very much, The wok was much more fun to play with too.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond I dry my iron skillets on the stove so that is where I got the basic idea. I did make a wine reduction sauce with rosemary later.

@pdulis Thank you so kindly for the fav. My son saw me setting up the 'baby' tripod on the kitchen counter and was interested but then saw what I was shooting and just walked away shaking his head.

@marcy0414 A old and stained wok but still a favorite. Thank you a great deal for hosting the challenge.

I love the abstract nature of this image. The colors are rich and yummy...no pun intended.

@domenicododaro Cooking water for art, just an average crazy day around my house. Thank you very much.

@evalieutionspics Thank you, I use the wok a lot as you can tell by the stains - it just doesn't get shinny any more. I wish I could have gotten closer but I was afraid of the heat doing weird things to my camera.

@lsquared Thank you, I tried all sorts of ideas for water drops, but then cooking it came to mind. I dry my iron skillets on the stove so I think that is where I got started.

@mcsiegle Thank you so much, doing dishes finally pays off...:):)
