Still life with Penstemons no 1

I think that these dried blooms are Penstemons (Beardlip Penstemon,Penstemon Barbatus). It was a challenge to find dried images to verify. Last week when I was exploring the high country in the San Francisco Peaks, I saw several of these dried flowers. It has been a very dry year and fire season could be upon us sooner that we think.
Oh, I hope you have a mild fire season! Maybe some rain will come to the Southwest and the Southern Coast. This image is so special, I like the soft focus on the blooms and vase.

Very striking and emotive on black. I hope the fire season is not too bad when it arrives.

Very fine composition and the gloomy tones add some threaten to the image. Maybe explained by your narrative?

Like the dancing twig (twig), that disestablished the stability formed by the three flowers.

Wonderfully moody shot. Hope the fire season is not bad. We were just talking about it, as we have family in New Mexico and Colorado.

Thank you all a great deal. The fire season has started with one just north of Flagstaff (about 23 miles north). It is about 6500 acres and 20% contained so I am hoping that the brave and courageous firefighters get a break soon.
