Phoenix with my canon zoom. This was taken at the same time as the nifty fifty entry and both images together show why I need a good zoom and why my photos look like I'm beside the koala when I am nowhere near 😊 https://365project.org/koalagardens/xtra/2020-09-04 the nifty fifty shot.
I must say she has the perfect female koala profile, the angle and length of her skull and nose is classic 'girl'. She would be considered a 'beauty' 🤭
@lisasavill they are 2 different cameras - this is my bridge camera (canon) which has exceptional zoom and is small and light.
the other is my mirrorless olympus which I love but I don't have anywhere near the reach with it. I take both cameras out with me, as when a koala is really quite low and close the Olympus will take exquisite images.
but certainly taken at 50mm the detail of the koala is lost but the view of the surrounds is quite lovely.
thanks for commenting, there is so much to learn here in the nicest company!
Great portrait of your lovely little lady! Yes, our Canon really does have an awesome zoom. It has kept me from spending money on one for my t3i many times! Good shot!
Love the details and you do indeed make your photos look like you are right next to them. Are you saying that the males heads are different than the female heads?
@shutterbug49 oh yes, like most mammals there is definite dimorphism. I'll do a typical male head this week and we can compare (but just now it's so wonderful to photograph a girl!!!)
in short the boys have round heads, bigger noses, ears not quite so fluffy, and that nose is really roman. will make a good study
