“The morning cup of coffee has an exhilaration about it which the cheering influence of the afternoon or evening cup of tea cannot be expected to reproduce."
Oh, you do like the darkest of roasts -- Sumatra? French or Italian roast? Your beans on the saucer convey part of the story of coffee, and your quote enhances it.

Thanks for all of your awesome comments... I so love my morning coffee and now it is mostly decaf for me. I've been using a Keurig one cup machine for the past year and missed smelling the fresh beans and went back to grinding and brewing a pot. This is Peets Major Dickason's Decaf freshly roasted and shipped to my home and yes... it is a dark roast. The beans are small yet covered in lovely oil... so yummy. The china is my mom's original set which I never saw until after both my parents passed away. She had another set that we used on holidays. It is a lily of the valley pattern and so lovely. I never use the coffee cups even though they are beautiful they are too tiny for me! I too enjoy a cup of tea (decaf of course) in the evening... especially in the cool weather. Thanks again for your comments and favs.
