Carolina Ruellia

Carolina Ruellia is a wild petunia. I spotted this tiny beauty on my hike today on the Homestead trail at Red Top Mountain State Park. This flower is popular with pollinators and the plant is the host for the Common Buckeye & White Peacock butterflies.
