I've seen this bird at my feeders but it has been quite elusive. The minute I walk outside with my camera it disappears. I shot this through the glass in my back door, through the slats in the fencing on my deck and down into my pollinator garden. You can see the bird is quite small when you look at the cone flower seed pod right in front of him. Yet I was still glad to get the shot.
I love seeing the Goldfinches at my feeder. Those bright yellow feathers are a stand-out next to the Tufted Titmouse gray and the Chipping Sparrow browns. They like the sunflower seeds and LOVE thistle seeds. This is a great shot- especially when shooting in and around all those obstacles!
