@clifford the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail is our state butterfly in Georgia (USA). I didn’t realize until recently that there is a dark form of the female since she is dimorphic. Here is a shot that shows two females in the dark form. https://365project.org/kvphoto/365/2024-07-25

Hmm- I think this is who I saw (and posted a photo of) a week ago- I called it a "black swallowtail,' but now I'm thinking...? (Thank you for this information, KV)
