Trainsspotter's Paradise

A place that's not known by many is about half a mile along a bridleway. You come to a place called "Black Bridge" as on all OS maps, funnily it since been painted green and only used for farm traffic.

This very high bridge crosses over the junction of two railway tracks. Back in my childhood as a trainspotter the one on the left was the GWR (Great Western Railway) running from Gloucester to London. Whilst on the right was the LMS (London Midland Scottish Railway) running from the Midlands south to Bristol and Cornwall. Bring back my days of steam trains here when as kids we spent many hours of pleasure before cycling home.

In the distance you can see the edge of the Cotswold Hills, that's my playground today.
