The Mill Pond and Mill.

This is where my lovely pictures of the ducks came from, Belvedere Mill in the Stroud Valleys. Another of the old cloth mills that the valleys have developed.

The water would run through the arch on the right to a waterwheel or a sluice gate would be opened on the left had side to lower the water level. It is such a peaceful place, ducks and all.

@philcameron59 Mills and rivers work in similar ways, water drives machinery so water needs to be by the mill. SIMPLES.
