A picture I took on one of my geocaching walks in south Gloucestershire and I came across this very old kissing gate.
I know around the UK there are thousands of kissing gates, from old to modern wooden ones. It's just that this one between a churchyard and field in Wickwar was in such good condition, along with the stone walls, I just had to take a picture of it.
I need to go on a diet, as when I have my rucksack on I have problems getting through them.

@virtualbrownie@thresheg@featherstone Thank you for your comments - In case you not sure how they work, you push the gate part forward, walk into the space, then move the gate past you and go out the other side. I'm afraid that cows and other farm animals haven't worked this out yet. You can see how I get stuck with my rucksack on.
I love gates. They're so wonderfully crafted and mysterious....what are they keeping in or out? I may have some to share next week as fillers as they're plentiful in the UK....not so much at home.
This one is very unique, Heather. Great shot.
Iron and stone walls make a great contrast
I used to horse ride in Knebworth house grounds they had a deer gate similar to this but much bigger, I had problems
persuading a horse to go through but you could get ten people through that one.
@daisyjuds@kathiecb@windridge@claireuk Thank you ladies, glad you like it. It's between the churchyard which I'm standing and a field of cows where the footpath crossed.
@philcameron59 Thanks Phil, how did you know it was a deer gate, it might have been a cheap one. I'm trying to picture you on a horse which is difficult as I don't know you. Never mind thanks for your comments.
