I've Gone Round the Bend. by ladymagpie

I've Gone Round the Bend.

Another capture whist walking in the Stroud Valleys and very near to that steep bridge in a previous capture. It's a great place to stand and wave at the passengers on the trains, mainly as they have to go slowly weaving through the woods and up a steep hill.

In the old days most freight trains had an extra steam engine attached to the back to give extra push up the incline.

Another lovely UK scene that we have come to expect from you, Heather. Your commentaries make them all the better!

Like the way the tracks go off into the distance and the trees are bending inward. I'm assuming this isn't an action shot as you were falling down the hill.

@kathiecb Hi Kathie and thanks, You got me thinking now, did I line up the shot on the wall in front or not as I was on a steep hill.

Love your leading curves. Narrative reminds me of the story The Little Engine That Could.

@ladymagpie A little info at this link. It's about the value of optimism and hard work, which is needed to help get a train up the hill. It's a very popular chldren's book in the United States. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Little_Engine_That_Could
