The Lost Old Bridge

Sometimes when I'm out geocaching I find some unusual places. Along a very derelict Thames & Severn Canal path was this old bridge carrying a farmers lane. It was very spooky being way out in the countryside, silent until a tractor appeared above.

The actual canal path ended having been barricaded off and you had to go through a field around a wood. The bridge was completely overgrown and will need a lot of work to get the canal back from ruin.

nice when you find a hidden treasure

@ziggy77 Thank you Jo for comment and following, I have reciprocated. The tow path came to an end when someone had fenced it off into park. That will be removed.

It does look quite remote, it is a beautiful winter shot. Very stark; do they intend to renovate the canal do you know?
December 10th, 2013
@claireuk Thanks Claire, yes is hoping to open the canal right across the country from the River Severn in the West to the River Thames in the east. Small parts have already been restored.

@ladymagpie Oh Heather that will be fabulous; it is a bit high for them to do the walk on their back, feet on the roof of the bridge but still wonderful
