Friends, Romans, Countrymen. by ladymagpie

Friends, Romans, Countrymen.

Thought I would give you something very old today, even older than me. This is the remains of the Roman Amphitheatre in Cirencester, or Corinium as it was known in the early 2nd century.

The stadium held 8000 spectators on the 25 feet high banks that were covered with wooden benches. Jousting and bull baiting contests took place to the delight of all that came. I stood at the bottom and announced the words, Friends, Romans and Countrymen - felt good.

This is an awesome capture Heather, love the given history. What a thrill to stand there and announce the words that you did. Could you hear the crowd roar?
