Another of my long distance shots from beside my favourite spring. Here we have another of the numerous old mills down in the valley by the river.
The one in the picture is Stanley Mill, built in 1813 for weaving of cloth. There has been a mill on this site since the 12th century and this one finally closed in 1990. A fantastic building inside with the original carding machinery and spinning mules. It's a grade 1 listed building so can't be pulled down. There are plans for fats to be built into the old building.

I love these old Victorian factories, they have a strange beauty about then, and part of so many landscapes. Thankfully this one may be preserved for future generations .Lovely capture
