I went back to the bank along the road to capture these snowdrops amongst the long grass. Although there is still a biting cold wind, the sun did come out for a period of time.
I didn't realise that the snowdrops are protected in many countries and it is illegal to dig up the bulbs in the countryside. Wouldn't want to go to prison for snowdrop rustling, that's the bulbs not the flowers.
