A look around the Village. No. 7

My daily stroll around the village and I found the owner of this old cottage in his front garden. I inquired whether this was one of the oldest buildings in the village, and of course it's age

Incredible he informed me that it was it's 300th birthday last year being built in 1713 as two little cottages (Rose Cottages). The low front wall is original and the big gate, pillar and conservatory added, pity about the hedge. It turns out there is one more older next door but high hedges mean I can't get near it.

Made of Cotswold stone and stone roof, I remember when I moved to the village 30 years ago, that it was a boarding cattery and a very busy one.

@pittcj17 @lynnilou @daisyjuds @carolmw @philcameron59 @congaree @rytoonz @linnypinny @thresheg Thank you all for your comments, I've always admired this cottage and as you can see it's just sold. The owner has decided on a new house as the constant maintenance has taken it's toll on him.
