Popped up to my Brother-in-Law's today to see the completed restoration of this historic bench. You just couldn't believe that this was once a rotting pile of bits in someones garden. As a Master Carpenter he has done wonders.
I can also update some history as well from the brass plate found on the back rail. It says,"Made from teak-wood taken from the RMS Mauretania, by the Hughes Bolckow Shipbreaking Co Ltd, Blythe Northumberland. Therefore this was made in 1934.
Look at the previous picture of the bench on the 3rd of June.
I am so dense! The first time I looked, I missed the wonderful details above the name plate! The more I look at the bench and the rest of the garden, the more I see!
