Most people have door knockers or door bells on there homes but how many of you have one of these. Well this is my back door bell and comes with a history.
For the last few years of my employment I worked for an electrical testing company as their Office Manager. One of the things I had to do was try and get new customers by phone. I had watched a programme on television that showed a sales company, and every time they got a new customer you pressed a bell button on the wall to announce your success.
I had asked my Boss why I didn't have a button to push that rang a bell. The next day I came in to find he had put this alarm bell on my office wall, not quite what I was meaning but it brought a smile to many faces.
When I retired a few years later a couple of the electricians came to my house and presented me with the bell which they then fixed in place by my back door, happy memories, but I do have an electric bell as well.
